Dr. Molly Deason grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tyler, Texas and has been a veterinarian with East Lake since 2000. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science veterinary doctorate degree from Texas A & M and is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society.
When asked how she decided to become a veterinarian, Dr. Deason says "My first summer job after my freshman year at A&M was working for my equine veterinarian. I rode horses competitively my entire childhood and had the opportunity to work in East Texas with a fabulous equine practitioner and surgeon. My next few years, I worked for both small and large animal veterinarians and loved working with animals more and more! I fell into the world of veterinary medicine and got hooked right away, and have never looked back! I am so fortunate that I found my life's passion so early in life." Dr. Deason and her husband, David, are proud parents to Ella, Annabelle, and Porter. The Deason family also includes their Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Charlie Brown, who is like having "10 dogs in 1" Dr. Deason says.
Charlie is an avid swimmer and frequent East Lake Day Camper. The Deason family also has a red eared slider turtle named Clover.
Dr. Deason's hobbies include PTA and Lake Highlands activities as well as helping run a large semi-annual children's consignment sale. She also enjoys biking, working out, reading, sewing and helping her mother with her antiques business!
Dr. Deason is very passionate about getting kids interested in different vocations and often volunteers her time to work with kids and letting them be "vet for a day" with her.
